The Wee Family

Thought I would show you some of my work in progress...just finished painting all these wee critters so now I have to make a stand or cushion for each of them....they prefer cushions as the shelves get a little cold in winter...& hard....especially since they are going to be sitting for a longggg time. Lol...its pretty cosy in my studio with them...they keep me company & I enjoy looking up at them while I work...its so hard to part with them when they have been adopted...empty nest syndome I guess...some of these creations will be available on the TDIPT Marketplace come March 1st..or I will have them for sale on EBay or in Susan' s Studio Blog. You can join my email list to receive a newsletter whenever I have new creations for purchase. Thanks for dropping by & have a wonderful day!

Hereeeessss Meeee working away in my studio...putting the finishing touches on a collection of mice that I had just made. I think I can finally say...that I am happy with how they look...yea, I am a bit of a perfectionist...I am constantly looking for ways to improve my designs...& I think this is a good thing... because that is how artists grow & develope.

"What moves men of genius, or rather what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough." ~ Eugene Delacroix

I've Been Invaded

Yup...I've been a little busy. The wool fuzz has been flyin, my fingers have calluses and I am surrounded by wee fuzzy creatures. Been trying to sew smart by doing one stage of creation at a time..has worked out rather well if I say so myself. One day I cut patterns..the next I make wee arms..then a painting day etc. I so love my wee fuzzies...watching them appear from a square of fabric to something that has a real sense of personality...thats amazing to me. The act of creating something from something that people will eventually place in a special part of their heart & home. Thats pretty special too! Being an artist...being someone who has the ability to bring a smile to someones brighten their day...that is a gift. Its a gift that I very much treasure...
Have a great day!

For the Love of Animals

In memory of Glacier & Zorro

my 2 Hearts I miss you

A Dogs Soul

Every dog must have a soul, somewhere deep inside
Where all his hurts and grievances are buried with his pride. Where he decides the good and bad, the wrongway from the right, And where his judgement carefully is hidden from our sight. A dog must have a secret place, where every thought abides, A sort of close acquaintance that he trusts in and confides. And then accused unjustly for himself, He cannot speak, Rebuked, He finds within his soul, the comfort he must seek. He'll love, tho'he is unloved, and he'll serve tho'badly used, And one kind word will wipe away the times when he's abused. Altho' his heart may break in two, his love will still be whole, Because God gave to every dog an understanding Soul!

Good morning world...

Got up with warm fuzzy feelings this mornin...

Made my coffee..sat down in my favorite chair & sipped away...

Got to thinkin how much my mornings mean to be able to sit & ruminate about my day...

what I have to get done...what I want to get done...& just plain day dreaming...

I am fortunate in that I can do this on a regular basis...I don't have kids and I work full time at home...

as an artist...mornings are important to me...

I am not a night bird...I go to bed early & wake up early...

early is when my ideas happen...sitting...thinking... getting out my sketch book...write or draw all the new inspirations that have come to me...

I find that waking up and working out ideas in my sketchbook keeps me in a positive excites me...along with caffein...

I find it amazing how the creative juices get flowing when I look through my project thing leads to the next & before you know I have new designs & patterns to keep me busy for some time...

Doing this keeps my art flowing...original & all my own....yea they're not Van Goghs or Jackson Pollacks...but they're all mine...I made them & I know they came from my heart...

I like small....small is cozy... quaint...personal...& to be honest... working in small suits my level of patience just right...someone...I think a family member said to me...why don't you make bigger pieces...I think not

Small is wonderful...something to hold in the palm of your hand...something to covet...something warm...and tucked away in the corner of your heart...

So I make small things...small is good...
