Bittersweet Bunny & Friends

I've been a busy gal lately trying to get this group completed in time to have a fall sale...at my slow as molasses speed of working...fall will be over and winter will be upon us before I get everything finished.
Also in the works are some Halloween characters and more autumn themed pieces which I hope to complete soon. In the meantime you can preview these pieces..."Bittersweet Bunny Pincushion & Needle-Book", "Little Grey Mouse with Button's" and lastly my "Black Rose Bunny Pin-Keep."
This primitive style needle-book is a companion piece to my Bittersweet bunny...it has a cross stitched B & B monogram, a wool patch and an old pearl button.

Inside is a cream colored wool insert with pearl buttons, a couple of tapestry needles for your stitching needs and a sweet little reproduction antique needle-card tucked into the pocket.
I have lined the inside with French General fabric.
Blanket stitching all around the edge.
A sweet wool felt bunny sits on his pincushion...Bittersweet branches, flowers, berry's and leaves are cross stitched all around...An antique cross stitch pattern I have modified to suit my needs...Valdani variegated three strand floss.

A Wee gray mouse perched on his wooden spool...
A wand full of buttons...in case you should need one for your sewing needs.
This Bunny is standing on his tuffet which has a cross stitched wreath of black roses...again an antique pattern which I have modified...Valdani variegated three strand floss.

My blog sale will take place in October with a firm date to be announced soon...meanwhile it is back to my worktable to get more pieces completed...

Happy Fall ya all!!!

Bad Bear

It was a dark and scary night...OK that's a little corny...but it was dark...and I was scared cause I had just let Jasper out for a pee when I heard some branches cracking in the far corner of the yard...my heart started pounding and I dashed outside and grabbed Jasper and high tailed it back to the house...don't know what it was but it sounded big.

Fast forward to the next night...Dino lets Jasper out for a pee...Dino hears big crashing noises and then he sees little Jasper run to the noise while madly barking like he's some sort of hound from Hell...Our little jasper scares it away(((Holy Crap!)))
Fast forward...its morning...better go outside and check for bear poo cause bear poo is one of Jasper's favorite treats((sick)))...he also likes to wear bear poo...he thinks it smells nice(((not))).
I finish looking for bear poo...find none(((thankful)))
What I do discover is that this bear has eaten everything in our compost pile(((gross))) and he has destroyed our fence gate
(((thanks so much))).

Happy Fall!

A Nancy Poo Mystery

It was a beautiful afternoon so I decided to take little Jasper to the beach. For a change I kept him off his leash and let him lead the way...he lead us to some seaweed, to a small pile of old salmon bones, across a creek and up onto a sandbar.
I picked a wonderful old log to sit on and I watched Jasper do what dogs do best...smell things, dig up things and chew things...its the chewing of things that always seem to get Jasper in trouble...
Ahhh...what a lovely day...my dog, the sun, a nice breeze...then Little Jasper did a poopy(((Sorry)))a very strange poopy!
I was a small distance away and saw what looked like a bright orange carrot come popping out of you know where...(((sorry again)))
I thought to myself...what the h$#@!^$ is that...
O MA G A W D...its an orange...an orange earplug...
I looked at Jasper and he looked up at me(((What MOM???)))...I grabbed him, hugged him and thanked the stars that he was OK...then I laughed and laughed because I couldn't believe my eyes...it came out of him in perfect form...I could have cleaned it off and put it my ear(((sorry))
I have taken them out of his mouth before and I try to make sure that they are stored away in a safe place...but somehow I knew it was bound to happen...that he would get a hold of one and eat it...he is completely fascinated by these earplugs...needless to say we are very, very lucky and I am ever so thankful that our Jasper will be able to spend more blissful days playing on the beach.

This is the end of my Nancy Poo Mystery
